GNAL is a joint venture company of Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited GACL , and National Aluminium Company Limited NALCO . The equity holding of GACL and NALCO for the joint venture company is in the ratio of 60: 40

GNAL, the strategic bond between the two companies is aimed at consolidating GACL’s preeminence in Chlor-alkali industry and ensuring a steady and reliable supply of caustic soda to NALCO and other customers.

GNAL is setting up a green field 2,66,670 TPA caustic soda plant and, to cater to its power requirements, a 130 MW coal based captive power plant at Dahej, Gujarat. The plant is expected to be operational by the year 2020.
